Description
MT product family is made up of a number of semi-passive RF-ID devices with sensors which are able to measure time and to acquire, process, store and eventually transmit data.
The programmability and modularity allowed for by the basic platform is unique in the current scenario of RF-ID devices. This has two very important strategic implications:
• MT can come up with a number of different devices by conveniently selecting optional components and assembly solutions.
• The tasks performed by a given device can be modified by programming the device with a user defined algorithm.

Such devices come in different shapes and sizes and with specific features, depending on the targeted application.
The application fields which MT is addressing with its devices are detailed below in a dedicated section and fall within the areas of devices for cold-chain monitoring, security and anti-theft systems for traditional logistic and devices for human vital parameters monitoring.
MT solution consists of a common single-chip platform and of a set of optional components which can connect to the platform itself. Customers can choose between a number of application-specific configurations, defined in view of the required performances and based on a number of optional hardware components. Optional components include, for example, different types of sensors and batteries with different duration and power-generating technology.
Once defined, the requirement that comes from the targeted application and the process that leads to the definition of a new product includes the selection of at least: (i) a suitable sensor to monitor the specific factor(s) of interest; (ii) a battery which can power the device for the required duration; and (iii) an assembly solution which can both meet the form factor and accommodate the selected components.
The core of MT product family is a platform implemented as a single chip solution. This platform is the starting point for any product which has been and will be implemented and marketed by MT.
